I fixed the overflow by changing my importing function, but then I had to dump the new method too, because ffmpegsource2 would introduce av desync of several seconds for certain segments depending on no one knows what. So I ended up doing partial encoding. I can post that segment and the command I used to check the desync if you're interested.

BTW, while not possible with a bizhawk movie, such poll-based movie will be possible to console verify, just like the 2 second long SMB3 TAS.

My problem is that it uses tons of resolution changes, resulting in 117 segments and only 8GB of total size. For SDs I just did what you said and encoded the combined parts, but for HD I want to avoid shrinking the hires slides between levels, as well as upscaling gameplay to 2x. I want to upscale every segment to 4K and only then stitch them together. EDIT: I tried switching to ffms2 in my segmented importer function and got this:

So is there a way to overcome the avi import count limit of avisynth? Or just "encode what you can import as segments and then splice"?

You can input sub-frame with lua for the PoC purposes. Don't remember the event name.

The main reason is the fact that we can't always know the release info for sure. And yeah, site staff just prefers NTSC. That's all I know.

To both questions: because C64 is resolved that way. NTSC is just our tradition. There are exceptions, but those have compelling reasons to exist. So yeah, if MSX games will always work on NTSC, I don't even see reasons for PAL MSX TASes. Don't ask me why NTSC is traditional, we've had so many arguments about that tradition recently and it hasn't changed.

Yeah, my plan is that translators also translate the header. Just some people hate the header itself. And I find it quite useful.

How hard they are to make affects the desired difficulty setting that makes the run more impressive, and usually more entertaining. "More of a Superplay" doesn't mean much to me in this case, since we evaluate 2 main aspects of the run: technicality and entertainment. Hardest difficulty, when used well, improves both. Faster speed alone doesn't change those, and in my case, it also looks less real and authentic, since like pretty much everyone else, I'm used to the regular speed, so I can comprehend and enjoy more stuff as a human. Still, this requires input from other people too!

Like I said. It doesn't make it harder to TAS, since you just apply the routing and tricks that will work exactly the same on other speeds, you just have to adjust the length of each input. I don't think it's what we use difficulties for.

Well, increasing the speed to 1 (fastest), looks nearly like the Superfast Super Mario Bros (NES Hack). But I prefer using original speed on games (expect for text messages).
