I got my own internets last year, & lurked for some gameplay vids on YouTube. Don't exactly remember which was the very first seen TAS, one of these: NES Tom & Jerry, NES Darkwing Duck, Genesis X-Men 2, NES Battletoads... I laughed, i came, i wtf'd 9000 times, & went to X-Men's Submission page to get some info of such a speciffic gaming. Obviously i thought, that were real-time speedruns at first! Then i hardly understood info about using some tools, but still couldn't imagine what tools. I was kinda noob even in emulation too, so my amazement was unlimited when i discovered TAS as a phenomenon. After watching FODA's Bt tas, i got a wish to see Bt&DD one too. As no movie were ever published for this game, i'd like to record mine, but have no time, lol. So i started with encoding :)

I think the Manual for TASEditor should be a bit more trivial & visual for example: Load existing movie into TASEditor, by engaging TASEditor while the movie you need is loaded into emulator Doubleclick on frame number & the movie will be brought to this frame Click '||' to play movie from the current frame '<' and '>' advance movie 1 frame back or forward respectively You also may advance frames your usual way '<<' and '>>' bring movie to begining or end Add input by doubleclicking the place you need, accordingly to frame number & button, or you may highlight the frame & click on the button name in the headline EDIT: i lol'd hardly after realising that Tas Editor gives 0 rerecord count to movie XD also noticed that it actually can NOT paste frames, only cut. it is drawback... Add link to TASEdit page in 1st post http://tasvideos.org/EmulatorResources/TASEdit.html

mmarks, non-transparent subs would be better for such resolution also, colored only black & white (not gray)

i'm afraid, only TASers need this, cuz they abuse Frame Advance for entertainment & 60fps support is needed to see the result. most of YT'ers don't need 60fps support

Current limit for movies is about 15:30+ minutes. Uploaded some vids to work out. 15:32.0 & 15:31.5 were deleted for length, 15:31.0 was cut to 15:30, as well as 15:30.5 So this is it, MUGG Cut movie on 15:30 + some tail of milliseconds & only this tail will be cut by YT

& what about usual subpixel management? Adeliket in his 'ram search tutorial' says how subpixel values help/hinder speedrunning, but english live speach isn't clear enough for me. So may it be described in writing?

thanks for this log, it covers right the same question, and hexediting really helps here. so, one must open saved logo.avi, go to line '0x000080' (or '128' in decimal view) and replace first eight numbers by 'ff ff ff 00 ff 8d 19 3c'. They are equal to decimal fraction '60.09983...etc' incidentally, this framerate is provided by my FCEUX 2.1.3 (edit: as well as 2.1.4a. Are there adelikat's docs wich tell FCEUX framerate, put in this address, in hexadecimal?) the original Logo's values in this line differ according to the framerate of saved logo.avi for instance, if you save Logo with 60 fps, you get '01 00 00 00 3c 00 00 00' PS: this path is NOT trivial. maybe there may be another way? (scripts, bats, etc.)

Hi. When i try to use logocombine.bat, mentioned in tutorial, it does nothing with capture.avi itself, as i see, it processes only logo.avi & subtitle.sub. Though, this is not the point. I tried to combine Logo & Capture by VirtualDub, but you know, it tells me that framerates of these 2 files are different a bit. Capture's is about 60.09983... (i guess this is not the end of number, there are infinite numerals after point), but it's shown as 60.100. When i set framerate of my Logo as 60.100, or even 60.09983, VirtualDub continues to tell me, they're different. Right up to this The question is: How to set for Logo the very same framerate as Capture? I believe, there's a command for MEncoder, but i couldn't find it in docs.

i've read on our russian forum that rerecord count may be edited. of course, as one record an fm2 file, he may just edit it with simple notepad. as for other formats - there is HEXeditor (or stuff like it). is there any way to check, if rerecord count was edited? (sorry if this was already discussed - SEARCH brought me no success. if it was - give a link plz)
